The Team
Sikhs in Schools was formed by three co-founders, each taking responsibility for various aspects of the association

Amarbeer Singh
Amarbeer has worked in schools for over a decade. In that time he has had various roles in the secondary maths classroom and school and trust leadership, before moving into teacher education.
Amarbeer believes classroom teachers play key roles in levelling the playing field and ensuring that all students, regardless of background, can succeed in school and beyond. He puts this into practice through his work as Assistant Director of Greenshaw Research School, a teacher educator for Ambition Institute, and providing bespoke Teaching & Learning consultancy. He has an MA in Expert Teaching, written a book on teaching, and written journal articles and blogs for organisations such as the Education Endowment Foundation and the Chartered College of Teaching.
Passionate about social justice, Amarbeer founded Inspired Learning, a charity offering free tuition and internships to local students. He aims for Sikhs in Schools to inspire future Sikh educators and leaders.
Jagdeep Kaur
Jagdeep is founder of the National Education Diversity Awards, the UK’s FIRST national celebration recognising inclusive workforces and sustainable working cultures in education.
A former Head of Science and senior leader who began her career in the global medical communications industry, Jagdeep brings classroom and cross-sector insights to strengthening Sikh representation and supporting a thriving education workforce.

As Quality of Education Leader across 11 secondary and 5 primary schools, Pavandeep develops senior and middle leaders to drive improvements in Teaching & Learning and Curriculum & Assessment. She supports the implementation of research-informed approaches to ensure all students access a high-quality education. Pav also leads science across 11 secondary schools, setting a clear strategic direction for excellence.
Alongside her role, she serves as a trustee for a five-school MAT in Leicester and is part of the first cohort of DEI Coaches in a national project led by the Chartered College of Teaching and Mission 44. A committed advocate for equity and representation, Pav organised REND Northampton- a dinner dedicated to tackle obstacles faced by Global majority teachers. She is excited to collaborate with others to establish Sikhs in Schools - an emerging national network that aims to celebrate, support, and empower Sikh educators.
